Basic Information / Grundinformation

The Wetzold name seems to have originated in Germany. There are families with this surname in Germany, the United States of America and Australia.

Some of the line emigrated to the United States - there are two separate (e.g. not yet connected) lines in the US. One line (the line of Otto Wetzold emigrated in 1889 to New York. There is also another line, from (I believe) a William Wetzold. William's family seems to have ended up in Texas, USA.

This One-Name Study will be looking into all lines in all countries.

Will potentially be adding the Wetzel surname.
